Understanding Light

PRINCIPLE:

Everything we see is subject to light.  We're able to identify forms because of the way light reflects and bounces off their surface.  Light is at once artistic and scientific, organic and mechanical, simple and incomprehensible.  Mastering the principles of light can be a life-long endeavor – and indeed is for many artists.  In photography, light is a flame that can burn out – or burn out of control, if not managed well.  But if you can manage light for your needs, you can create truly breathtaking photos.
